Absentee Voting Info Online

Ballot and box with words vote

For those of you planning to vote via absentee ballot this year, a new website may be of interest. It's called BeAbsentee.org and was designed to provide procedures for absentee voting online. Since every state is different (and the majority of people vote at churches, schools, and libraries), you may be stumped when it comes to knowing the specific steps involved in voting via mail-in ballot.

BeAbsentee.org was started by Aaron Bacon, a college student who felt the site would help his fellow cohorts, many of whom are busy with classes and may not be able to vote. He tells one site, " So many times people register to vote, and Rock the Vote is good about registering people, but you can't expect them to show up at the polls. It's one day a year, and a narrow window of time for college students who still wake up at noon."

BeAbsentee.org researched all the information needed to vote for each state. The site has an interactive map with instructions on how to vote in your particular area.
