Adobe's Virtual Machine donated to Mozilla
Filed in archive Announcements on November 8, 2006
I have always loved and hated Adobe at the same time. Why ? The love is for their superior technology and applications. The hate has always been for their prices. But now, things are different. Some time ago, Adobe followed in Picasa's footsteps and released a lightweight image editor called Lightroom, which is simply beautiful. Both Picasa and Lightroom closely resemble iPhoto, but add lots of editing features. Lightroom is currently my favorite because of the possibility to create Flash9 galleries.

Flash Player 9 includes a virtual machine for ActionScript (somewhat like Java). And hte big news is that Adobe has just announced that it will work together with Mozilla to include this virtual machine in Mozilla's browsers, like firefox. Adobe will also continue to use the virtual machine in Flash 9. This could be the biggest boost the Mozilla foundation has ever known, as the virtual machine has actually been donated to Mozilla.
Latest child in this family is Soudbooth, which could be described as 'Lightroom for audio'.
