Amazon Fresh : Groceries 2.0

carrots.jpeg

Amazon is not the best online shop I know – they're poorly represented in Holland (where I happen to live), but still I like to use them as a reference for finding information or checking out products. They have accomplished one thing today : They have surprised me. How ? By opening a grocery service. Yes, you've read it right. Amazon Fresh is here.

he home delivery options come in two flavors-a predawn delivery in a temperature-controlled crate, and a scheduled in-person delivery within a one-hour time slot of your choice. The service is in part the next step to Amazon's "Food and Grocery" section, which contains nearly everything except foods that require Refrigeration.(Webware

Interesting move, and definately way ahead of the rest. Amazon is cool again. The service is only available in Seattle for now.

I love the idea of being able to have my groceries delivered straight to me. I don’t like the shipping charges though.

Haha, who likes shipping charges ?? Acutally, one of the bigger supermarkets in the netherlands have done this for a long time : http://www.albert.nl. Their service is not bad, shipping charges don’t apply if you spend a minimum amount (15 euro I believe)….
