AOL Pictures : not all that
Filed in archive Newsdesk 2.0 on September 28, 2006
AOL Pictures just came out of beta status. The site looks pretty simple, and as we like eyecandy, that's a slight disappointment. I have to say it resembles , and he has some points, but I cannot agree on everything. I do agree on the following : The picture editor is only for Windows. That means poor programming as well as a bad judge of quality in software, as obviously the editor must have been programmed with Internet Explorer in mind, the crappiest browser of them all that simply won't keep to international standards.
To be honest, the site doesn't look and feel finished, and should probably not have come out of beta, but the 'editor thing' takes away it's chances of being Web2.0. My 5 cents ? Put it back in beta and release it when the job is done.
