With all possibilities of the Web today, it is pretty easy to create your own applications to manage your business online without too much hassle. It is not that hard to create a scheduling program to manage appointments, but the scheduler built by Acuity Innovations is something else. Their creation is very smart. This is how it works :

You created appointment types, custom intake forms, and set your availability
Clients visit your scheduling page. This can be customized to match your website or integrated into it
They choose an appointment type, date and time from times when you are available and free. Acuity Scheduling will intelligently verify that you do not overbook.
The client completes any intake forms you require and pays for the appointment (if you want them to)
You and the client receive confirmation emails

When you check out the demo you can find out why it's so smart. Imagine you have a massage salon - instead of doing all the planning by hand, this program will do it for you. As you can setup appointment types, it is simply perfect to manage your salon with. Very smart.

At our company httpp://www.binaryspectrum.com, we call it the visit management module. Developed for doctors it consists of two main sub-components; * The visit calendar which takes care of the patient’s appointment right form the initial booking stage, to confirming the actual physical check in of the patient into the facility. * The visit setup function which is a part of the administration module helps the staff to configure and streamline the schedules management by creating visit profiles which setup the schedule templates for the provider in terms of visit type wise time slots and durations etc.
