Times have changed. It's not just that the possibility of backing up your PC online exists at all; it's that there are so many good companies competing for your business on the issue...
Lifehacker took a look recently at the top five online backup tools out. Their choices included CrashPlan, Mozy, DropBox, Jungle Disk, and Carbonite. Prices ranged from free (for a limited amount of space) to $2 per gigabyte per month (which could get expensive). The best deal seemed to be DropBox. where 2 gig of space is free and you pay $9.99 a month for 50 gigabytes of space.
About 7,400 people voted in their online poll on which service was the best. DropBox got 42% of the vote.
