Blogger offers OpenID
Filed in archive Newsdesk 2.0 on January 20, 2008
OpenID is a great thing for the web. If you own an account anywhere on the net that can be used as an OpenID, you can instantly login to so many other services using one account, it is a promise for the web user.
Google has understood this. And now for the great news: Blogger supports OpenID logins. Isn't that cool? For instance, if you have always had a VOX account for blogging and such, you can now use that account to login to blogger too. But even better: Google's blogger login now also acts as OpenID, enabling you to login on any other OpenID accout on the web. Fabulous. The net is becoming a better place every day.
Google's Blogger is here: Blogger.

Will it catch on though? Despite its obvious advantages, I suppose it puts your security details at a greater risk than before as only one account needs to be hacked for someone's details.
This has to be the way forward though as single accounts are already used across different platforms, such as Yahoo! and Blogger and Google Mail.
