Social networks are a typical sign of today's Web. People create networks around all kinds of subjects. One I did not spot until now is comic books. There might be social networks out there around comic books, but none of them catched my attention.
Now there is Comic Vine.
Comic Vine's creators say they created it because nobody else will ever do it as noone reads comic books anymore. I don't know if that's true - my local comic book store (Stripshop) still seems to be doing good business, but I am not a comic book person...

Comic Vine is first and formost a user-submitted encyclopedia for comics. To that end we hope to become the most up-to-date and authoritative resource on the Internet for the medium.
