Digg is undead, say some
Filed in archive Newsdesk 2.0 on May 4, 2007
Yesterday I reported on the fuss around a link to the hexadecimal decryption key that allows Linux users to decode and play HD-DVDs on Digg. I declared Digg dead. Several other sources reported Digg not being dead. When the removal of the link was demanded yesterday, Digg initially bent over and did it. That's where I say Digg is dead.
They did the right thing afterwards by allowing the links back in, but as far as I am concerned, that doesn't count.
Google on the other hand responded much more political by saying it would be impossible to remove all the links as there were thousands of links being added every hour. Smart move and no bendover action.
Digg is still dead. Buried.
