eBay has finally understood they could become a little bit modern and step into the world of Web 2.0. Yes, theirs is the biggest, but be honest, the interface looks like your first homepage you made in the nineties : terrible.
Instead of improving the site, how it looks and handles, they have invented a 'social network' addition called communities. And it is terrible. I instantly went to the community site and joined a community. Although I saw some ajax-like things moving, as soon as I wanted to join it took me to the old login screen. When I logged in I was redirected back to where I was, and yes, I had to login again.
And it gets worse. After two logins, I said to myself, hey, blog entries, let's setup my blog too. But then I found out that you cannot actually integrate your existing blog, but have to write everything on the site. That was it. You know how you sometimes watch a movie that isn't all that, but you keep on watching until you say to yourself "That's it" ?
Ebay Communities (called neigbourhoods by them) is here.
