It is very frustrating when you buy something and need some help, little or no help or assistance is available from the website of the manufacturer. And as internetsales grow, I often buy stuff from other countries, so forget about service.
Fixya was invented because of this.

Like any other consumer out there, FixYa's founders had a hard time finding relevant and updated support information for their printer or digital camera, and therefore decided to create this site.(Fixya:About Us)Fixya says that their knowledgebase is superior because it's based upon user's experience rather than manufacturers FAQ's. And they could well be correct there. I hope they are,, but I wonder if they will ever charge money for their service, as they might grow very big.....

Thank God for the existence of repair services, otherwise I'd throw out barely used pieces of equipment and spend a fortune buying new ones.
