Flash your family with Geni

New startups are often exciting. A lot of startups however do the same thing making themselves useless, and often you see them disappear silently after a short period of time. Now it's cool to see startups that offer services in a different area than most of them, and Geni does just that.

Geni is a tool to create a profile and a family tree - including siblings, spouses, cousins, aunts and uncles, and their families

you can enter emailadresses with people's entries and they can automatically receive the family tree by mail. Family members are even allowed to add their information to the tree, and Geni will take care of overlaps and such.

Geni is a private network. Only the people in your tree can see your tree and your profile. Geni will not share your personal information with third parties.(Geni:about us)

I sure hope so. Family is in a lot of ways, kind of private.

Geni is not alone in this field : Famster opened it's doors in august, but they do a lot more than genealogy alone.
