Flock : The Bloggers Browser ? I am not convinced.
Filed in archive Web2.0 Software on June 15, 2006
Blogging forms one of the important pilars of Web 2.0. Lots of blogging tools, websites and other software exist, most of them designed to help the blogger contribute to Web 2.0 (the internet) more efficiently. A remarkable effort has been made by Flock, a company that produces the Flock Browser. We're a passionate group of people building the web browser that lets us stay in touch with our friends.

Flock offers many features to hunt news and publish blogs. What strikes me here is this : Flock offers 'blog this' functionality, meaning you can easily select news from a webpage you are viewing to blog about. I know of (and use) several extensions for Firefox that can do that, so I am still not impressed. Bookmarking is done by using the Star button (google-inspired ?) where in most other browsers you would key-in or use the mouse. I can only end with this : Show me a feature that will really make a difference and I will become a believer.
