Friendster receives patent on social networking
Friendster has been awarded a patent on social networking (7069308).
System, method and apparatus for connecting users in an online computer system based on their relationships within social networks
Potentially they could try and exploit this : "Suing rivals for patent infringement is no way to make friends -- but it is a way to make money." (The Browser). I wonder what good it will do to the online world. At the least it will create legal jobs....
