Google announces GDrive

Google is working hard to get even more customers, and I have to say the company is doing a good job. With the highly competitive products such as Gmail and Google Reader, and let's not forget about the Google Docs, I think Google is leading.

Something a lot of people have speculated about for a long time now seems to become reality : GDrive. What is GDrive?
GDrive is a storage solution. A way of storing the files you now still store on your computer's harddrive. Advantages are clear : Always and everywhere access to your files, no matter what it is or where you are. Disadvantages are also present : What about security? Doesn't everyone have certain files on their computers harddrive they don't really want to keep somewhere online?

Google says the product will become available partially free, partially paid, but price plans are unknown at this time.
As Google is an innovative company, GDrive will certainly be accessible from lots of platforms, including Googles Mobile operating system that is expected within 6 months. All in all, very exciting news.

Many people have blindly believed Google will dominate the Internet industry. which is not really the case. In fact, out of the search market, Google has not been successful. This doesn’t hurt for Google to get a lot of media exposure. Taking for example, GDrive was rumored for years… but the real online storage king is always a small innovator, not a big behemoth like Google. I recommend everybody to try DriveHQ Online Storage and Online Backup service (www.drivehq.com). I feel the usability, the group and sub-group file sharing, the advanced folder synchronization features are really killer apps. Even if Google launches its online storage service, it will be too late to catch up.

Google will always lead in whichever space it decides to get into. Yet, sites like zoho, and eDeskOnline are moving fast into the PIM space .
