Google buys another : JotSpot
Filed in archive Newsdesk 2.0 on November 1, 2006
Jotspot is a wiki-company for helping people collaborate, share and work together online. Google obviously thought this would be a nice addition to their webbased products like Google Docs & Spreadsheets and bought Jotspot.
Joining Google allows us to plug into the resources that only a company of Google's scale can offer, like a huge audience, access to world-class data centers and a team of incredibly smart people.
Jotspot will be moved to Google's architecture, and registrations are currently closed. Good news is that paying customers will not be billed anymore. Apparently Google tries to offer as much services as possible free of charge.
I think this can only go one way and boost Jotspot as well as Google. I am a huge fan of Google's Docs, using it daily now and I can only imagine what great services will be added after Jotspot's integration.
