Google reader is amongst the strongest rss readers available today. With it's offline functionality (you bet you can find me in a plane next week reading my stuff offline), the starring and sharing options, this is simply a killer app that has it all.
More features were added last night, including recommendations and drag 'n drop functionality.
The drag 'n drop functionality is not new in the online world, newsgator and bloglines already feature this. But in general we can say an improvement like recommendation is interesting. As it is geared towards collaboration and social activities on the net, I can only conclude that the net is going 100% social, and Google is going to be amongst the winners.

The Discovery recommendation feature suggests new sites a user may wish to read based on current subscriptions and (interestingly) browsing history. google has previously offered feed bundles based on subjects, but this is the first time it has offered customized recommendations in this way.
