Industrious Kid : control your kid's net
Filed in archive Social Web by S.M. Schrama on June 19, 2006
8 March, 2006 Industrious Kid lanched. Industrious Kid is a company that offers a social network for children between the ages of 8 and 14 years that is protected and controllable by parents of grandparents. It's called Imbee.Industrious Kid : control your kid's net

The company's goal is to enable children to learn and grow as they use the Internet, while simultaneously ensuring a greater level of creativity, excitement and personal security for each child's online user experience. Industrious Kid's age-appropriate products, services and destinations strike a unique balance between the fun and stimulation that children desire and the safety and guidance that parents demand.
The parents have control over what the children can or cannot see, Imbee blocks Yahoo, Google and such to prevent children from going further than allowed. As a parent, I believe this is a very good initiative, however the idea is not new. As several internet providers offer filtered internet, this one is different since major search engines are blocked. I am curious to hear the experience with Imbee from parents.
