Jakob Nielsen : Web 2.0 'distracts good design'
Filed in archive Web 2.0 on May 14, 2007
Jakob Nielsen has warned that The rush to make webpages more dynamic often meant users were badly served.
The first question that pops into my head is "who the hell is Jakob Nielsen ??" I have never heard of him and I consider that a good thing. It is oo typical that as soon as a trend has grown up a bit, the vultures come flying in claiming it's all theirs and start talking as were they in church. Go away. Yes you have a point. Now go home and sleep, or something. While VC's invest millions in nerds with ideas, you infect the planet with projectmanager-type talk.
grrrrrr.

Well if you don't know who he is you should take a month out of your calendar to catch up. Jakob always documents his findings with scientific data. So even if you don't agree with him it's a good idea to look at his reasoning.

A very short search for this person results in this article from 2003 : http://www.uspressnews.com/articles/1101
where he announces the letter 'c' is evil. I am sorry, but I won't invest time in this.
