Web 2.0
by S.M. Schrama on November 26, 2006
I review a lot of websites that are supposed to be Web 2.0, or claim to be Web 2.0. Most of them are Web 2.0, some of them try to be but are not. So what makes a website Web 2.0 ? And what are the key features a Web 2.0 site should have ? In other words, how can someone create a website that will be considered Web 2.0 ?
In a series of articles I will try and reveal what elements are key in a Web 2.0 website.
Part 1 - Look and Feel
Look and feel is one of the most important features in a Web 2.0 website. Why ? We are currently in a position where we expect applications to be webbased, not locally installed, however they should look and feel like locally installed applications. So the looks should be sweet and professional, and the application should react like any application installed on your harddrive.
