In an effort to take over the Web, displace Google as the King of Cyberspace, upset Congress, and perhaps tilt the balance of the Universe, Facebook recently introduced a handful of social plug-ins and widgets that include a universal like button for the web.
And within the first couple of days, over 50,000 websites had signed on to use the Facebook plug-ins according to TechCrunch.In the first 24 hours of their existence, evidently Facebook users used the new like button a billion times. But hey one reason for that was that Facebook connected it to a bunch of things in the profile. For example, I had listed Mel Gibson's Brave Heart as one of my favorite movies. One morning I logged into Facebook and they gave me a choice of either deleting that info from my profile or converting it into a like. I converted it. And I resented being faced with the choice.
Then I went to my applications and harvested my crops in FarmVille…
