Live Video Chat, No Software
Filed in archive Video and Audio by Linda Roeder on June 4, 2008
If you've ever wanted to have a live video chat with your friends, but couldn't figure out how to get your webcam to connect with your friend's webcam, you're going to love MeBeam. From MeBeam you can chat with your friends by just opening a chat room and inviting them to join.

Just go to the MeBeam homepage and type a word into the text box. That's the name of your chat room. Click on the "Connect" button. Tell your friends to type the same word into their chat box. Then you'll see them and they'll see you.

There are two ways to chat on MeBeam. You can type your chat messages into the box at the bottom of the screen. This is good if you don't have audio or a microphone. If you do have audio and a microphone you can just talk.

Of course you'll have to have a working webcam to use MeBeam. Buy a webcam at your local store, hook it up to your computer and install the software that came with it. That's it! Now you're ready to chat.
