Map My Ride

map my ride
You probably already know that I like inventive things built on top of existing apps. A lot of neat little apps have been built on top of Google Maps (imagine the impact of Google Maps on out world), and one of the more recent applications built on Google Maps is Map My Ride. This is a pretty cool app that clearly shows that all these Web 2.0 hyped applications are not just for techies : this one is for runners and cyclists.

The best thing of the app is the fact you actually draw your route on the map.
Here is a nice tool to map your runs/rides, with the ability to look at elevation and get various other details from your workouts. You can map your run to check distances etc. Useful if you don't use a Garminlinks GPS or similar device.(Gasping for Air)
