Web 2.0

Instead of just talking about it, I decided to give Movable Type 4 a testrun. And I have to say, I am quite impressed with the improvements from the older versions. Although the system still works with static output where you have to publish every time you have added anything, great improvements have been made to the publishing interface, now called dashboard (some wordpress influence ??).

Handling of images and other attachments or files has improved. The upload windows are now inline javascript windows making handling smoother. The menu is less rigid and resembles the menu found in most blog publishing platforms. The only thing I can't understand is why there is no publish button directly below the save button in the editing pages.
All in all, not bad. I will have to look into available plugins and other extra's such as the widgets it seems to handle now, but the most important part, the blog creation and publishing is pretty cool.
