Offices for the Web Worker
Filed in archive Web 2.0 on January 5, 2007
Freelancers and webworkers can do their jobs from home, or anywhere else where they can hook up to the internet. In the US a lot of webworkers work from (coffee)bars, starbucks and such. In Europe, it's common to work from home. WebWorkerDaily informs us about other locations that are more or less meant for Web Workers and other types of freelancers without an office. In his post Jackson West talks about the Hat Factory in San Francisco. A quick peek on the site reveals an incredible price of 10 USD per day which even includes the net and a dedicated fridge (!!). For a simple dutch guy like me, that's incredible. I would not even consider working from home if an office location would be available near my place (on the dutch coast) at that price. I can only say that things will have to get better by the time I move to the US, which would either be this year or next.......
