Person putting coin into donation box

If you work for a nonprofit, you know that fundraising is an important part of keeping your organization alive. It's also one of the most difficult. Today, however, Web 2.0 technology has placed fundraising online.

Recently my cousin was biking for charity, and I was surprised to see that I was able to pull up a customized homepage for him, donate money, and then print off a (tax deductible) receipt. It took mere minutes and all he had to do was send out an email to his contact list in order to request funds. No phone calls, no begging, just a simple request sent out over email.

One company that helps nonprofits raise funds online is Kimbia. They allow an organization "increased giving opportunities by embedding unlimited, custom donation forms" throughout a website. They help automate the giving process which makes it as easier for patrons and volunteers as it is for the organization. Best of all perhaps, they charge nothing upfront. So it costs nothing to try if you're still leery.

If you work at a nonprofit and are looking for a new way to raise funds, this might be one option for you.
