Podzinger : search and index podcasts

Podzinger is YASE, Yet Another Search Engine. Podzinger indexes audio and video podcasts, calling searching 'zinging'.

Trying to find podcasts that are of interest to us is reminiscent of the early days of the internet. Instead of using general search techniques, sites attempted to organize all the content on the internet into categories. The diversity of the available content became too cumbersome for mere categorization to be an effective means for people to find what they wanted. Search evolved to where it is today, that is, to look inside websites quickly for words and phrases.

• PodZinger is now searching more than 250,000 audio and video
  episodes, including Spanish content
  


• PodZinger was recently spun off from parent company BBN Technology
  , which also provided $5 million in financing. The recent funding reflects the rapid proliferation of online content and the success PodZinger has achieved in becoming the premier search provider of online multimedia content.
