Second Life - why not have a first life first ??

Second Life - why not have a first life first ??
Just like in the new world commerce is taking over everywhere, so does it in SL. Shops are popping out of the ground everywhere. But there are virtual nightclubs, shops with weapons, a virtual synagogue and a virtual dojo (for Japanse martial artslinks) and even a virtual Western Wall (HaKotel) for instance.
But why has the OBA (Public Libary Amsterdam) to be there, and the City Of The Hague?! (Dutchclick.com)
Some time ago I wrote about Second Life. My conclusion was that I did not find out why I would go in there and waste my time. Apparently I am not the only one as my good friend Ed had a look himself (without me pushing him) and decided he did not see the purpose of Second Life. I would like to advice people to get a first life first....
