When Japanase Sun-eployee Hideya Kawahara showed a software package he created to his collegues a couple of years ago, he could not foresee that his creation would become a 3d window manager that sets the tone in the 3d desktop world. Sun allowed him to develop it further and today a new 3 dimensional window manager is available, although it's still in beta stage.

If you wonder what the benefit of 'turning program windows around' is, well, imagine taking notes on the back of a window as an example - much more than just eye-candy. Looking Glass is built in Java, so it will run on all operating systems. Some of you might wonder what the link to Web 2.0 is. Well, two things actually :
