Technorati removes content

Filed in archive Newsdesk 2.0 on November 6, 2007

There has been a time where you meant something as a blogger when you had a good index number on Technorati. In those times, T had enough problems on it's hands to take care of. Some blogs were never indexed, pings didn't work and so on.

This is all over. These days, T works perfectly and does it's job with a smile. Although, it might be an evil grin, as T has just removed all content that is older than 6 months, and T doesn't even deny it :

We're in the midst of some economization, performance fixes and retooling that have required taking some data offline. The data is not lost but our priorities are to prefer keeping recent data online. Most people don't notice :) We'll probably be bringing that data back online but I don't have an ETA yet. ()

That's nice. As Techcrunch says, nobody probably noticed because they've all switched to Google's Blogsearch. Anyway, nice to insult your audience by removing potentially valuable content, to insult them again by saying they would never notice.

That's how you get customers.
