Aneesh Chopra was in Silicon Valley earlier this month. He talked about innovation. As America's first Chief Technology Officer, he hope that we will see an increasing level of innovation over the next few years.
TechCrunch covered Chopra's trip and speech. Chopra expressed a concern at the meeting: Technological innovation has greatly improved our personal lives, but that hasn't traslated into increased global competitiveness.
One distinction Chopra makes seemed insightful to me. We have plenty of new terchnology (gadgets and such), but we're not sure how to put them to best use. If you think of the gadgets as "nouns," our job is to figure out the verbs involved in innovation. What actions can we take with our technology tools?
The TechCrunch article includes a transcript of a Q&A with Chopra and a one-hour video by Scobleizer.
You can also see him at Buzz at Loud (from CNET) on YouTube.
