Start-Ups
by S.M. Schrama on August 21, 2006

Thisnext is a startup in the social networking category that launches today. The site is currently in private beta and I was fortunate enough to obtain an account to the site. What is it ?
Our shopcasting network is a place where people can recommend and
discover great products and is built based on our philosophy, "Buy
better to live better." Shopcasts are lists of "favorites" that tell
stories about how you do things and what you use. We want people to be
able to answer online a question they ask all the time in the real
world, "What do you use?"

When selecting a product to add to your wishlist or picks, the site lets you select images (from either the internet or your local computer), tags and a description.
The site looks wellbuilt and well thought of. Although at this moment it is not 100% clear to me yet how I can best use it, it certainly looks and feels sensible an useful. I guess it needs more exploration. Conclusion : Impressive.
See the result here.
