I just updated my profile at Google. You should do the same.
LifeHacker had a piece recently on Google's profiles. They now show up in search results. And Google gives you control over what your profile says about you.
Last week we pointed out that the new Google Profile page comes complete with a custom URLs designed to make it easy for people to find your profile. Apparently that was a first step in bringing more prominence to your Google profile; as of today, those profile pages will start appearing on the first page of Google search results.
That was late last month.
Google evidently views these new profiles as a way to make information about people a little more user friendly. Go Google yourself and see if your profile shows up in the results. Should be at the bottom of the page.
