Web 2.0 Summit Wraps Up

The three-day Web 2.0 Summit wrapped up yesterday in San Francisco. The event this year featured a diverse group of well known speakers – including Arianna Huffington, Lance Armstrong, Al Gore.

Among the highlights of the event, a 42 minute TechCrunch interview with Founder and Yahoo CEO Jerry Yang – the day after the Yahoo-Google deal fell through.

The on stage Venture Beat interview with venture capitalist John Doerr was another high point of the event. According to Venture Beat, Doerr said that there are three big technology problems the government will face: energy, basic research, and investment in universities. Doerr recommends Bill Joy, cofounder of Sun and a partner at Doerr's own firm, for the Chief Technology Officer job that the Obama Administration looks set to create.
