White House goes Youtube
The White House has discovered Youtube, and is repotedly using Youtube to post anti-drugs campaign movies. The ONDCP is the driver behind the movies :
Today, the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP) became the first U.S. government Cabinet agency to use YouTube, one of the fastest-growing Web sites on the Internet, to provide video content to Internet users worldwide. Beginning today, ONDCP will start posting videos of award-winning anti-drug advertising, national drug policy announcements, and other exclusive content on YouTube.com. This ground-breaking effort will enable ONDCP to reach more Americans online and illustrates how public institutions can adapt to meet the rapidly changing nature of today's communications field.
(ONDCP)

This could be a smart move, but the effect will probably be lower than they hoope, as the targeted crowd will simply click on and select the next movie they find. For Youtube, this is good news. They can firmly say they're out of the playground and into big business. Personally I think it's good to see the government doesn't stay behind on these things. Well done !
