After Mark Cuban's remarks on the moron that would by YouTube a big discussion started. Youtube is currently one of the biggest sites in internet video content, and is even used by the US government to spread their messages to the general public. Several broadcasting companies also signed contracts with the site. So what's going on ?

YouTube is up for sale, Mark Cuban says it will not be sold simply because it would be sued to death over copyright issues. Forrester Research has joined the discussion by saying the same thing by comparing it to Napster, the fabulous company that was sued to the grave.

Forrester's Josh Bernoff's point is that after having removed all copyrighted material, nothing will be left and it will die off. ITWire's Stan Beer has a point : Where Napster died off because after the relaunch the only offered homebrewed stuff, Youtube was created just for that. I believe that Youtube has a much bigger chance of surviving all this; but time will tell.

I certainly hope not. I’m seeing clips of many things that I missed, or were done before I was born. It’s very educational. Plus, a lot of people, usually not seen anywhere, are getting some much needed recognition. This phenomenon reminds me of the beginning of the Internet. There was resistence then, now we have this. Don’t let this thing die!
