Yahoo 360 shuts down

Sometimes I cannot help but smile. Yahoo's 360 has always been a bit different - part blog, part tagging software and personal sharing "my first homepage" -like. I hated it from the beginning as it had too many options and yet too many limitations.

Yahoo 360 disappears from our radar today - it has been shut down without anyone noticing,

Yahoo claims that the company is transitioning 360 into a profile type app :

...we intend to transition Yahoo! 360 to a more integrated Yahoo! "profile" experience, we've closed Yahoo! Podcasts and plan to shut down a number of one-off services...(Jerry Yang, CEO)

Yeah sure. Yawn. Yahoo is simply looking at products that don't work or nobody wants, and send them into deep space. Logical step, nicely translated into CEO talk, haha.

I personally would not miss it. I tried it, but I was not impressed. It was clear from the start no one was using it, so no socializing to it. In terms of the blogging, it was extremely limited. And the rub is that it seemed to have potential, but it was never exploited. If it is gone, it won't be missed.
